Favourite Lipstick Picks | Lipsticks I Couldn't Live Without

Favourite Lipstick Picks | Lipsticks I Couldn't Live Without

Hey,
I am a lipstick kind of girl. No lip gloss, just classic lipstick. There's no other makeup type that I could never get enough of than lipstick. Matte lipstick or cream effect, I have them all.
So here are a few of my favourite lipsticks and reviews on each.

Lipsticks:
There is nothing better than a smooth, glossy lipstick. A method I use to keep the glossy effect lasting with my lipstick, is to apply lip moisturiser/ lip balm to my lips to provide a smooth, hydrated base to evenly apply my lipstick to. Plus, because the base -my lips- is smooth and hydrated, it's easy to correct lipstick to ensure it looks great.
Gosh, 'Shocking Coral'
Gosh 'Shocking Coral': A brand that I have read don't test on animals, Gosh is affordable and has multiple lipstick colours to choose from. I chose 'Shocking Coral' because I seem to have a thing about coral coloured lipsticks and I just love how there's so many different coral colours for each lipstick. I am not sure how much this cost. as I purchased it a while back but it was definitely under £7.00.

Avon, 'Pink Pop'
Avon, 'Pink Pop': One of my all time favourites and I can honestly say the glossiest and creamiest lipstick without the thick glitter incorporated into the lipstick which I hate (as I'm one who's fussy about makeup not looking natural and looking over the top), this lipstick from Avon in 'Pink Pop' suits for everyday use without the harsh, false effect that some lipsticks and their colour can have; with its colour being near natural lip colour, it looks great no matter what you wear. As you can see, I've nearly finished this lipstick because I wear it so often.
Maybelline, 'More To Adore'
I wore this lipstick to prom alongside my pale pink dress, and the lipstick did not contrast at all, adding to the look. I'm sad to say it's slowly running out and they don't have this lipstick any more :/ I received this lipstick in a Christmas goody bag from Avon given to me, so don't know it's price, but this lipstick is, by far, hands down the best lipstick I've ever had! Avon, I have found, have by far the best quality lipstick with the smoothest texture out of all the lipsticks from all the beauty brands I've tried and affordable for a great quality lipstick. I definitely recommend! :)

Maybelline, 'More To Adore': Another lipstick that has a creamy, smooth texture to it, is Maybelline's 'Colour Sensational Lipstick',  'More To Adore'. The second creamiest of all lipsticks I have ever tried, this lipstick is more of a soft pink tone and has a texture that enables you to apply the lipstick smoothly and so evenly. Costing £6.99 this lipstick is worth it's price and another tone that is perfect for everyday use, without looking too bright or bold; something someone like me is unlikely to want to wear everyday.
Maybelline, Kate Moss, 'Rock 'N'
Roll Nude'

Maybelline Lasting Finish, Kate Moss, 'Rock 'N' Roll Nude': This lipstick is part of Kate Moss's "Favourite reds and nudes" selection of lipsticks from Maybelline's Kate Moss collection. I have been looking for a nude coloured lipstick that suits my pale skin tone, yet is smooth and glossy for a great look; and that won't dry up quickly. This lipstick is a lovely colour and there are two other nude shades to pick from. I purchased this lipstick alongside a 'buy one get one half price' offer and it cost me just £3.25 which is a great price for a big branded lipstick, originally costing £6.49; and I have to say I do love it :)  The shade, as it is said to be, looks natural like a nude lipstick, but has a pinker hue to it than other nude lipsticks meaning it adds a bit of colour to your look. It's definitely becoming a favourite of mine :) I would definitely recommend this for a nude,, natural-like effect lipstick :)

Matte Lipsticks:
Avon, 'Peach Flatters'
I love a good matte lipstick, but it has to be worth it's title, and not chip like poor quality matte lipsticks do or come off easily. The whole point of a matte lipstick is to give a matte effect, hence its name, and this can be hard to apply with dry lips for a dry-like feel lipstick. So with any matte lipstick I use lip moisturiser first to make sure the lipstick is easy to apply and will not tug at the lip, causing an uneven application of lipstick that can look pretty bad. This matte lipstick also lasts for hours, even when eating and drinking, the colour stays.

Avon, 'Peach Flatters: I love this matte lipstick from Avon, called 'Peach flatters', on sale for £5.50 via their catelogue. The colour is similar to a fascia and has a slight brown hue to it to deepen the colour, similar to a berry colour, and to add, Avon don't test on animals. I can also say that I have found Avon's quality of lipstick to be the best out of all the lipsticks I have tried from a multitude of makeup brands.
Revlon, 'Audacious

Revlon, 'Audacious': Another favourite matte lipstick, is 'Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm' in 'Audacious'. The lipstick is called a lip balm as it's in crayon form and it's colour is a coral colour which suits my skin tone a treat as I've pale skin. To add, I can get away with this colour as a near red lipstick, due to my pale skin tone and the lipsticks pigments, yet without the harsh contrast that red lipstick has against my pale skin.

As you can see, these six lipsticks are my favourites, and are from various brands, with some brands occurring more because I love their products so much. There are some old and nearly all gone, and others new and already becoming a massive favourite of mine. I just adore them all :)

Small Ways to Save | Little Tips for Money Saving Moments

Small Ways to Save | Little Tips for Money Saving Moments

From time to time, everyone will want or need to save money at some point in life, and as a young adult (18 is considered an adult in the UK even when I don't feel old ha) money can go fast. I found as I got older and more independent, as I am one who likes to have self Independence, money would go fast on the smallest of things in every day life, especially this year as I have become a lot more independent in small ways. It's a general thing adults experience, such as when a car breaks down, or when the bills are due. And this gets me thinking: I'm glad my parents socialised me to save as much money as possible through every day life; especially when I have to shop for small every day essentials such as shampoo, makeup, you name it.

So I've gathered all the ways in which I save using my methods to save a little more, especially as the seasons effect spending, such as Christmas shopping which can be costly.

Price compare:
Now this may be an obvious one, but it works. Ever purchased something, only to realise the exact same product was so much cheaper in another store you've just waked into? I have and it can be annoying. So look around and find which shop is best for you.
I price compare on beauty products such as shampoos to makeup, and an example is my favourite shampoo, 'Garnier Ultimate Blends Shampoo, Delicate Blends, Rice Cream and Oat Milk'. In Boots this costs £3.49 on average via their website, but in Wilkinsons, my go-to store for cheaper items at this moment in time, it cost me between £1.00 to £2.00, most likely £1.90 I believe (unfortunately I cannot remember the exact cost or find a receipt for this product). So as we can see, a lot more worth the price, especially when I have been saving up for my holiday.

Buy in bulk:
Sometimes buying in bulk can be more worth it, than buying individual items. An example could be makeup, often most stores will have deals, such as Boots, where they'll have 'buy one get one free' on all makeup brands specified under this offer.
To add, buying in bulk means that, yes you may end up with more you wanted this month, but next month and the month after, you wont have to spend a penny on the same product, therefore saving up on the little expenses and having the money you would have spent on that item to use on something else. I just figure out the cost for one unit of the bulk item, which all sales signs will have on them ie '£0.79 per 100ml' and compare this to the individual item. Often you'll see that the comparison is equivalent to something like £0.70 or £0.39 cheaper, which if times by the number of amount of times you'll buy another of this item, can add up to the next pound. Definitely worth a try.

But remember, some companies will actually try to trick you into believing that their bulk items are better than the same items that are separate, even if the bulk items have just as many items in them as the individual items, so always compare the price to make sure you're paying for what you want.
For example, just because two bigger 800ml bottles of shampoo costs £4.00, doesn't mean that the same individual 250ml bottles should be ignored. I found four bottles of individual 250ml shampoo cost a total of £4.00 for an overall total of 1 litre of shampoo, meaning you get 200ml more for the same price than you would with the bulk offer of  £4.00 for a total of 800ml bottles of shampoo. If I had ignored the individual 250ml bottles, I'd be charged £4.00 for the bulk buy and would have 200ml less, therefore I would have paid for 200ml less of shampoo than amount of one individual bottle, and so technically speaking, I would have been overcharged. To add, as I think of this, 200ml is nearly the amount in one individual bottle, therefore if I had gone for the 800ml bottle, I would be paying for less than I could get. Hope this makes sense, as I'm not maths fan myself, but what I mean is that I got more shampoo for less the cost with individual bottles, so always check those prices first and compare.

Shop in the 'sale':
This may be obvious, but it works. Many of my "best-buys" a.k.a. "Bargains" as I like to call them, were in the sale. A plain, black, cut out back jumpsuit from River Island, for example, was originally £50.00, but I purchased it for £20.00, saving £30.00; my "best-buy" in terms of saving so much money at a shop that can be costly for certain or many items, and also because I just love this jumpsuit :)
If you take me to a shop with a sale, don't think I'll shop in the full price section, as when I see a sale item that's so much cheaper than it's original price, and that's my size, and is just what I've been looking for; I'll grab it up in seconds before you can even see me. I just love sales. I can find great items for such cheap prices :) A denim dungaree pinafore dress, which I've been searching for, ever since they can back into fashion, and one that suits my body shape, appeared before me in New Look a few days ago, so what did I do? I grabbed it, tried it on, and fell in love with it because its A-line shape suited by body shape perfectly and now it's another favourite of mine for only £9.00 instead of £19.99. Plus, I never wear dresses and they don't normally suit me or my body shape, but this dress I just loved and it's the first time since I was about eight years old that I've worn a dress on a normal day with no special occasion and by choice :)

So there are a few of my methods and tips for saving money when required, and advice on how to do this if needed. Hope this was helpful and worth a read :)

Summer Rush | Catch up

Summer Rush | Catch up

Hey, hope all is well,

Now it's been a while, well a very long while, since I've posted anything; and I'll explain why to you all following both, or one of my blogs. It appears that over the past few months, since my mock A-Level exams around April time, I've been extremely busy with revision for my first year of A-Level exams, my AS exams, which if I don't pass successfully, my chances of continuing A-Levels can be reduced because of these results that my A-Level exams will display. I've also been busy revising for my GCSE Maths re-take which is still the one exam that stresses me out the most, as unfortunately I don't find maths easy apart from the simple things.
The first one hundred or more revision cards
for Sociology, now 1/3 of the number
of cards I have after finishing the revision.

After I had my mock A-Level exams at college, a few weeks later I had my real AS exams, which again have the ability to affect my progression onto my second year of A-Levels, and so I've been glued to revision, bit of Drama and Theatre-Doll's House is one I am glad to put away-English Language and Literature, and oh what fun I've had with good old pal William Blake and his in-depth poems, and of Fitzgerald's novel 'The Great Gatsby', which I must admit is a well structured and detailed read.
Revision for my GCSE Maths
re-take
Alongside the majority of my revision being that of Sociology, which strikes as the most demanding subject I've ever done in my whole life and as the most horrible exam that I unluckily experienced because of my nerves getting the better of me with six questions to answer :/ And as expected, my Sociology revision sessions at home and at college ended up lasting for two straight hours of social science theory, facts, research methods and terminology, and of course social statistics; be warned, if any of you want to do A-Level Sociology this September, it's very demanding with over 30 modules to study for just one exam, so it can be easily composed the idea of me sitting on my bedroom floor complaining that my brain hurts and that I need a break but have to keep on going xD To add, I had my dance show where I was at the venue from 10 am to 10 pm, and if I was lucky with a chance to lie in bed, 11 am to 10 pm. For the show, I had to perform four shows in two days and I sure was exhausted after that with three dances and the finale to perform in. So as you can read, see, well you know what I mean, things have become kind of hectic for me; until now.

All my shoes ready and waiting
for the three separate dances I took
part in.
Because now, I am glad to say that I will now be literally "free"-meaning not attending college for over a month, yet alas I've still another year to do, and will be posting again, including any holiday posts with a multitude of images once again with the next eight and a half weeks of summer holiday I have been given (beginning today! :) )
Also, I am glad to say, that after a year of A-Level English Language and Literature, I am finally starting work on creative writing and ways in which different interpretations and versions of, say 'Fairy tales' -which I've been doing in lesson during these past few bridging weeks at college- can be produced and will start on my course work this summer, and no worries, I'll still be here sat in my room, with my trusty old pal 'Lenovo' laptop and lazy-day clothes typing away for hours on end.
To add to my massive catch-up for you, look out for possible fashion posts, as I have come to the conclusion that it would be interesting to add to my blog's fashion page :)

Have a great few weeks, if you're on holiday already, say just finished your exams, then well done and enjoy, and if you're still at school or college; then hang in there like I did, it'll be worth it! :)
