Technic Mega Mattes Eye Shadow Palette | Smokey Cappuccino Look

Technic Mega Mattes Eye Shadow Palette | Smokey Cappuccino Look

Hello to all my followers and visitors to my blog.

Technic Mega Mattes Eye Shadow Palette used for my
 Smokey Cappuccino Look.
Now it's been a while since I posted because things have been very hectic with the Christmas period over and the new year in tow ( happy New Year everyone :) ). I have been busy working 10.5-12 hour shifts at work non-stop which have left me exhausted and run down with a cold :( However I booked myself off some well deserved holiday this month and am glad to say I can't wait to blog about an makeup look and product that I have wanted to post about for a long time; so here it is :)

My Smokey Cappuccino look using
Technic's Mega Mattes Eye shadow
Palette. I have completed it with Rimmel
Lasting Finish Lipstick in 'Asia' to show
the Smokey Berry Cappuccino Look.
Today the makeup product I am blogging about is one of my favourite brands' eye shadow palettes: Technic's Mega Mattes Eye shadow palette, which I was influenced to buy after I came across Technic's Mega Nudes Eye Shadow palettes that came in three series, which I bought 2 of the 3 series: Technic Mega Nudes 2 and Technic Mega Nudes 3; both big favourites of mine (so a post about these will follow soon).

Now if you follow my blog, and from reading the above text, you will know I am a big fan of Technic's products, especially their eye shadows because of the affordability, quality and the non-animal testing of their products. I purchased Technic's Mega Mattes Palette for the amazing price of £2.99 and I can say for sure that money hasn't gone to waste.

I love Technic's Mega Mattes Eye shadow because of the smooth consistency the matte shadow has and the lovely nude to neutral colours that look so natural and effortless for an everyday look that takes just a few minutes to achieve.
Technic Mega Mattes Eye shadow Palette:
Cappuccino eye shadow is the one the brushes
are pointing to.
Like I normally do, I have given a name to each eye shadow colour around the theme of cafe drinks, because of the coffee and cappuccino like colours they have, and also to add a bit of fun to the makeup looks I create.

To create this look, I firstly applied my everyday makeup, concealer, foundation and setting powder. I then took my flat eye shadow brush and gently applied the eye shadow for this look called 'Cappuccino' and gently placed onto my eyelids using light patting motions to distribute the eye shadow evenly and reduce fallout of the shadow under my eyes.

Taking my eye shadow blending brush, I then began to blend the eye shadow into the eye socket and along the eyelids to create a smokey look. I further applied a little more to the outer eyelids to build the smokey look with the shadow. To finish off, I applied mascara to my eye lashes and gently dusted away any excess eye shadow under my eyes using my powder brush to compete my look.
The finished look

For a bigger impact with this look, such as for special occasions in the day or night, you can also add a dark lipstick to finish the look off, which I did using one of my favourite lipsticks, Rimmel's Long Lasting Lipstick in 'Asia'; to aid this dark smokey makeup look and transform this look into what I call Smokey Berry Cappuccino Look 😘.

There you go, my Smoke Cappuccino look using Technic's Mega Mattes Eye shadow palette. I hope this makeup look was of interest and maybe even of great use for anyone looking for an affordable makeup look that is effortless yet effective for everyday wear or even night time wear for occasions such as parties or events 😃

My New Skin Care Detox | Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Charcoal Facial Wash

My New Skin Care Detox | Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Charcoal Facial Wash

Hello to all my followers and visitors to my blog 😊

Today I thought I'd share a product with you all that is ideal for the everyday skincare budget and that I am pretty impressed with at the moment; Boots Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Charcoal Facial wash.
I have used Boots own skincare brands for years due to the effectiveness of their products on my combination skin; which is highly sensitive to other big brands such as Nivea which aggravates my skin, makes it go red and inflammed or Simple which made my skin produce excess oils because the product would dry my skin out. Since I was sixteen, I have used Boots trusty Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Foaming Face Wash and Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Night Gel (both really good products for combination skin :) ) to help control my skin in the lead up to prom (accompanied by an all important healthy diet to aid skin health including natural yogurt and berries to provide antioxidants for my skin) and the results were so good, I've kept using their skincare ever since and I'll be 20 next week.

And this leads me onto my newest addition to their skincare brand, the Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Charcoal Facial Wash which works a treat on my skin, and here's why I love it.
I purchased the facial wash which has active charcoal in it for £4.75, which is a pretty average price for a product with charcoal in it, that, as you all may have noticed, is a MASSIVE beauty and skincare trend at the moment. And although the price of £4.75 isn't the cheapest, I put it down in my affordable everyday skincare bucket, as I purchase it alongside my two other skincare necessities, Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Foaming Face Wash and Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Night Gel, in a 3 for 2 offer, meaning I buy the Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Charcoal Facial Wash and Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Foaming Face Wash and get the Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Night Gel free; meaning I have saved £3.29 in this offer on skincare items I use everyday.

But aside from the cost and convenience, another reason why I love this face wash is because of the calming effect it has on my skin, with tea tree and witch hazel naturally reducing inflammation and acting as an antibacterial, and the active charcoal drawing out impurities which in turn helps my skin to heal effectively. This means that I can apply the Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Charcoal Facial Wash to my face once I have wet it in warm water, and leave it on my skin to soak in, kind of like a mask, and reduce inflammation, which immediately leaves my skin feeling refreshed and looking brighter and less inflamed; an unlikely experience for most of us with combination skin, where companies claim their products work straight away but yet we see no difference. And as an occasional skincare product once or twice a week to replace my everyday Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Foaming Face Wash on occasional days, which may I add actually works unlike many other products, the cost is well worth the positive effects I experience.

To add, because of the facial wash's effectiveness, I use it like a face mask because of the beneficial charcoal it has in it, leaving the product to work on my skin  twice or once a week, depending on the condition of my skin, such as when my skin feels sore or is inflammed with blemishes; I will put the wash on for 10 minutes and then wash it off with warm water. And the best bit being that the facial wash sits like a mask on your face yet isn't a face mask designed to dry,  it doesn't leave my skin feeling dry and tight unlike other products I have tried in the past, and is easier to remove when washing off.

Thank you for reading, I hope this was helpful for anyone like myself who lives with combination skin and is willing to try a skincare product that actually shows results.

Yours truly,

Caris  😊

Technic Baked Blusher in Peach | Bourbon Rose Blusher Look

Technic Baked Blusher in Peach | Bourbon Rose Blusher Look

Hello to all of my lovely followers and visitors to my blog :)

Today I am going to share with you all one of my favourite makeup looks that I have been adopting of late and one of my best makeup products to use; my Bourbon Rose Blusher Look that I have created and have been wearing pretty much every day this summer, which I feel perfectly suits the summer weather.

This blusher look is created using Technic Baked Blusher in Peach, costing me the great price of £2.99! I love Technic makeup because of the affordability of their products and the amazing quality their makeup radiates when worn. This blusher is my absolute favourite, with it's peachy-pink tones being the perfect pigmentation for my pale skin tone.

One great characteristic of this Technic Baked Blusher, is that it has an amazing shimmer that mimics the illuminating effect of highlighter, creating the 2-in-1 effect of a highlighter and blusher all at once. Another great characteristic of all Technic products that I own, is Technic's 'Against Animal Testing' label on the bottom of all their products, making the product even more worth its cost with the knowledge your product wasn't applied to an animal during testing; which is something I find extremely difficult to find these days for an affordable price due to the large volume of popular brands that still test on animals.

The lush baked texture Technic's Baked Blusher has is the best characteristic for any makeup lover like myself. I adore baked makeup products because they always appear to hold such an intense shimmer, allowing you to easily apply an even amount of product onto your face, which doesn't cake or powder like other non-baked products I have used in the past. As a result, Technic Baked Blusher makes application extremely effective with just a few strokes using a blusher brush resulting in an intense, subtle application of blusher; that appears perfectly and doesn't take long to achieve like some non baked blushes I have used, which just never seem to apply enough to make the blusher visible yet look natural at the same time.

Following the effective application of blusher, Technic Baked Blusher works to illuminate a healthy glow without any build up of blusher, with the blusher spreading evenly onto your face; radiating a healthy, peachy glow perfect for summer and making me feeling great.

This Bourbon Rose Blusher Look I have created can also be tailored to other seasons such as spring, with the soft pigmentation creating the perfect makeup look for any occasion.

✨ Avon Clearskin | Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask Review ✨

✨ Avon Clearskin | Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask Review ✨

Hello all my lovely followers and visitors to my blog :)

Recently I have been trying Avon's Clearskin Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask and I have to say I think it's a great skincare product to use to treat your skin to a deep treatment cleanse. Due to the warm summer weather, my skin has been suffering pretty badly of late in terms of blemishes, and so I decided to find a face mask that's affordable to purchase, and easy and effective to use.  As the result of my search, I came across Avon's Clearskin Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask, and being a fan of Avon products because of their affordability and effectiveness, and strict no animal testing moral they have for all their products (see here if interested in reading), I couldn't help but to order myself a tube of face mask and wait to see the results.

I ordered Avon's Clearskin Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask from Avon's catelogue (you can also head over  www.Avon.co.com site to purchase their products), and it cost me just £2.50 for a 75ml tube, which is an amazingly affordable price for a mineral face mask skincare product. When using the face mask, I was surprised by the masks ability to actually penetrate the pores of my skin, leaving tiny little dots in the face mask where the pores on my skin were once the mask had dried.

When using Avon's Clearskin Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask after 10-15 minutes, I rinsed the mask off, and it left my skin feeling soft and smooth, alongside being the first face mask I had tried that hadn't left my skin dry; proving that this face mask is a pretty great product to use. I've continued to use the face mask, applying it 2-3 times a week and waiting for the mask to turn grey when dry after 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off, and the results are great. Not only does the mask leave my skin smooth and soft, but it also helps to resolve blemishes by penetrating the pores on my face, and as a result I suffer from less blemishes reappearing where they were previously due to enlarged or blocked pores.

Overall I would rate Avon's Clearskin Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask 5 out of 5, because it does what it says on the tube and helps to reduce blemishes from appearing and reappearing; something that I am overjoyed about for someone who's skin is effected so easily by variety of factors from temperature and weather, hormones, food and stress such as from lack of sleep.
Another great characteristic about Avon's Clearskin Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask, is that I can apply it to my face, and during the 10-15 minutes whilst I wait for it to dry, I can do other things, leaving the mask time to cleanse my skin whilst I get on with other jobs; making the mask time efficient and effective unlike some face masks I've used in the past which take a the long time for the product to work.

So I urge anyone with skin like mine, and who's willing to try Avon's Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask to go ahead, and quickly purchase a tube whilst Avon still have this product on offer for £2.50, because I love it and it's a perfect face mask to help cleanse and treat my skin for a effective deep cleanse.

🌄 The Key Beauty Staple this Summer | Garnier Intensive 7 Days Ultra-Replenishing Lotion 🌄

🌄 The Key Beauty Staple this Summer | Garnier Intensive 7 Days Ultra-Replenishing Lotion 🌄

Hello my lovely followers and visitors 😃

Recently with the British weather warming up as we enjoy Summer, I have finally dared for the first time since I became a teenager, to not wear tights when out in public. This is solely because as I've become older, (turning 20 soon in November yikes! ) I have become more comfortable to be me, and as the result, I decided to no longer wear tights in the summer, because lets be honest why would I wear them, when I swear down not wearing tights is so much more comfortable in this intense British heat; and when I question the feeling that I'm expected to have perfect legs when in fact they are not perfect and I am perfectly contempt with that.

As the result of this, one thing that I have been taking care of, is moisturising my legs so that they look healthy but are completely natural during these summer months. And the one moisturising cream that I love right now, is Garnier Intensive 7 Days Ultra- Replenishing Lotion, a perfect lotion to use and take on your travels this summer.

I decided to try this brand of moisturiser a few months ago, because I have always suffered from dry, itchy and sensitive skin, especially during changes in temperature from cold to hot, and decided enough was enough. In conjunction with this factor, I have always been searching for a afforable moisturiser that once applied, leaves my skin smooth and moisturised for the whole day, instead of moisturised for few hours before I experience itchy, dry skin again.
And I cannot emphasis enough how amazed I am at the results of using Garnier's Intensive 7 Days Ultra-Replenishing Lotion recently, because it really does what Garnier says on the bottle, having a "replenishing" effect on your skin. I have never come across ANY brand, and I really do mean any, that fully moisturises my skin the way Garnier's lotion does; and that I can find in shops at a affordable price.

Garnier 7 Days Intensive Ultra-Replenishing Lotion is my star winner this summer, because its the perfect beauty product that anyone can use to care for your skin this season with great results, be it alongside you in your room or on holiday near the seaside.
When I first tried Garnier 7 Days Intensive Ultra-Replenishing Lotion, applying it to my legs and arms, it had a cooling feeling to my skin, absorbed into my skin quickly, and left my arms and legs feeling silky and moisturised the whole day. Furthermore, even after showering the same day, my skin still felt smooth and moisturised! It's a miracle I swear because my skin never stays moisurised, especially after a shower! I will even go as far to emphasise this lotion to be so good, by telling you all that it lasts the whole night and day, after I applied it to my legs and arms after a shower, went to bed, woke up the next day, wore a skirt without tights, and walked around in 31'C (that is very hot for British weather) weather with still fully moisturised, replenished skin by the ed of the second day.

Garnier's 7 Days Intensive Ultra-Replenishing Lotion also has helped my skin become healthier and more replenished; enabling it to stop becoming itchy and dry. Now even if I don't apply the lotion every night, but once a week, my skin stays moisturised. And after about a month of using Garnier 7 Days Intensive Ultra-Replenishing Lotion, my skin even stays moisturised 2 weeks after I stop applying it, with no itchy skin like I would normally have.

Overall, I would rate this product a 4.5 out of 5, so I urge everyone with skin like mine to go ahead and purchase Garnier's 7 Days Ultra-Replenishing Lotion, because it really does help your skin become healthier, replenished, and rids you of itchy, dry, skin; leaving you feeling happier and healthier as you bask in the summer sunshine. Finally, I will also tell you that its pretty affordable too, considering the positive effects it has on your skin which you would find in a very expensive lotion from other top brands designed to help dry skin; costing me approximately £1.80 from Wilkinsons, my favourite affordable shop to buy great brands at great prices; now reduced on www.wilko.com from £3.00 to £1.80 which is an absolute bargain!

p.s: check out the other Garnier products too I highly recommend them such as their Garnier Intensive 7 Days Restoring Hand Cream :)

Special Occasion Duos | Perfect Nail Polish and Lipstick Duos

Special Occasion Duos | Perfect Nail Polish and Lipstick Duos

Hey,

Hope all is well,

Today I thought I would share two of my favourite nail polish and lipstick duos with all lovely people.

Previously I purchased two Technic nail polishes for the very affordable price of 99p in the colours of 'Morello' and 'Seashell'. And when I got home, I realised that they go perfectly with two of my favourite lip sticks: Maybelline Long Lashing Lipsticks in 'Drop of Sherry' and Kate Moss' nudes collection in 'Rock 'n' Roll Nude'.

These duos are perfect for any special occasion out, be it a day out or for a party. The best thing is that the lipstick has strong pigments that match the strong pigments of the nail polishes. The Technic polishes are great, because for an affordable nail polish, they're consistency is very good and they last for a long time without chipping and coming off; even for someone like myself who is always busy at work picking up products and serving customers and writing non stop at college.
The lipsticks are an absolute favourite of mine. I adore their pigments and they have a lovely cream-like consistency to them, meaning they can be applied evenly and leave your lips looking smooth and you looking gorgeous.

One duo that I love is the grouping of Maybelline Long Lasting Lipstick in 'Drop of Sherry' and Technic Nail Polish in 'Morello'. These two beauty products seem to compliment each other completely, and I call this duo 'Very Berry'. Their pigments are a dark red berry colour, one of my most favourite colours recently that I cannot get enough of. This duo is perfect for a special occasion, or even just every day, as they add a pop of colour to your look that's neither too bright or too pale but is perfect to give a little extra to your look. This duo is my most used beauty duo at the moment.

My second duo that are ideal for any occasion, especially later in the year with spring and summer, is the combination of Maybelline Long Lasting Lipstick in 'Rock 'n' Roll Nude' and Technic Nail Polish in 'Seashell'. The metallic pigments in the nail polish compliments the nude pink undertones and pigments in the lipstick, giving off a shimmery, pinkish look; perfect to convey a elegant feel to your look. This duo is also used often by me when, especially during every day because the paler colours are more subtle but still intense in their pink pigments. I have named this duo 'Pearl Pink' for their lovely pink tones that convey a subtle feeling of elegance.

There you go, my nail polish and lipstick two beauty duos that are perfect for any occasion.

Affordable Party Nail Polish | Affordable Nail Polish for any Occassion

Affordable Party Nail Polish | Affordable Nail Polish for any Occasion

Technic Nail Polishe for 99p each. On left 'Seashell'
and right 'Morello'
Hey,

Hope all is well,

I thought I would share two nail polish colours that I think are great for any night out or occasion when dressing to impress is key; and what better way than with very affordable nail polishes.

I purchased these Technic nail polishes from Body Care a few weeks ago for the affordable price of 99p, in a selection of colours that I just love; a metallic polish in the colour of 'Seashell', and a dark, satin-effect nail polish in 'Morello'.
These nail polishes are not only affordable for 99p each, but are also a rich colour and great consistency when applied, meaning they would look great for any occasion, such as a party or a night out, and makes it easy to apply without the fuss to need to apply non-stop layers and layers; making them a must-purchase item.
'Here I am wearing Technic Nail Polish in 'Seashell'

When it comes to nail polish, I am not one to be fussy about the brand. To me personally, if a brand serves me well and is a good match for me, then I will continue to appreciate it's ability, especially if a brand is cheaper and more effective than another brand;because there's nothing more worse than spending lots of money on expensive makeup and beauty brands, only to discover they don't actually do anything or are of a terrible quality. But these nail polishes however are the exception.

Technic Nail Polish in
'Morello'
The nail polishes are affordable- great for a student like me who only works part-time in retail for long hours- the consistency is great, meaning you only need to apply one layer to achieve a great coverage and colour, instead of using two or three coats of polish which takes forever to dry. The nail polishes also come in a large variety of colours, meaning you can afford to pick as many a you like. I mean just imagine spending £6.00 on just one polish that holds 12ml, when you can have six 12ml nail polishes for £5.94; definitely a better deal for a beauty product that you want to keep.

Overall these polishes are a definitely a very affordable party nail polish, that's perfect for any occasion. I adore their colours and their purple tones. These polishes are also pretty versatile for a nail polish, especially for someone like me who is always busy at work where the polish could be scratched off; a very ideal characteristic wanted in any nail polish.

Elegant Festive Makeup | Frosted Snow Smokey Eye

Elegant Festive Makeup | Frosted Snow Smokey Eye

My Frosted Snow Smokey
 Eye look

Hey,

Hope all is well and I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year :)

Speaking of Christmas and New Year, this gave me the ideal to post a simple but elegant makeup look of mine that I believe ideal for any Christmas or New Years party or occasion; the Frosted Snow Smokey Eye.

Now I love the smokey eye look, and it is true that I wear it everyday, but I also wear it for special occasions as well. For these occasions, I amplifying the smokey eye a bit either by adding a little more shadow to the crease of the eye, or replacing lighter shadows with darker ones, making the shadow contour the eye even more; especially when out and in darker restaurants or bars.

Base shadow in 'Silver Nude'
from 'Body Collection Eye
 Shadow Palette'
So without further ado, I'll give you my quick and easy step-by-step guide to achieving my Frosted Snow Smokey Eye look. These images were just taken in my room after completing the look so I'm afraid no nice fancy background for this post.

1) Firstly, like always, I wash my face in the morning to remove any oil or dirt to avoid blocked pores caused by wearing makeup on blocked skin. After every face wash, I then moisturise with my 'Simple Kind To Skin Light Moisturiser' which is the only moisturiser that soaks into my skin and doesn't leave an oily, greasy residue on my skin's surface, which in turn blocks pores and causes blemishes. I apply this moisturiser twice and massage it into my face gently in circular motions until it's absorbed.
'Golden Bronze Baked Eye Shadow'
with 'Golden Bronze' used for the crease
of the smokey eye look.

2) I then start with my everyday makeup: foundation, concealer, press powder. After I take my trusty 'Body Collection Eye Shadow Palette', and select 'Silver Nude', which will be the base for this look and gently apply it, dabbing it onto the eyelid to reduce buildup and to create an even application.

3) After building the colour by applying the eye shadow, I move to my 'Golden Bronze Baked Eye Shadow' in 'Golden Bronze', and start to apply it to the crease of my eye, starting from the end of the lash line across to the corner of my eye. For the crease of the eye, I apply the shadow in a back and forth motion to blend the shadow. Each time I gently add intensity to the crease to develop the smokey eye look. To avoid excess shadow falling underneath my eye, I very gently tap the eye shadow brush on the edge of the eye shadow palette to remove excess shadow.

The complete Frosted Snow
 Smokey Eye look
When I apply eye shadow to the crease, I do it in a ' V' shape due to my eyelids tapering down, which leaves my eye lashes tapering down and flicking out a bit like a cat eye. In theory on my left eye the 'v' shape will be like this: < and on my right like this: > but obviously in a more curved shape, as eyelids curve and the eye socket is also curved slightly.

4) After blending the shadow into the base eye shadow, I then take my powder brush (with no powder on it) and gently flick the brush from under my eye outward to remove excess shadow. Finally I apply my mascara. Because the eye shadow will have fallen onto my eyelashes, I firstly apply the shadow on the top of my lashes starting from the outside to the inner lashes. Straight away I then apply another coat to the lashes underneath where you would normally apply mascara. Again I start from outside of the lashes inwards, going over the outer lashes once more to develop curl.

5) Last of all, I apply moisturiser to my lips to create a moisturise
The complete Frosted Snow
 Smokey Eye look
d, smooth base to put lipstick onto, and apply my lipstick. You can choose which colour you want.

For instance, with this eye shadow look, it's best to pick a subtle pinkish tone like my Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss in 'Rock 'n' Roll Nude'. This is because a light tone compliments the look, but does not distract the eye from the eye shadow look. However, if you were to use a darker lipstick, like my Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in 'Drop of Sherry' in a dark burberry, reddish tone, this would draw the eye away from the smokey eye look, and distract from the main makeup feature that was intended to build definition to the face. Once applying lipstick, the look is complete.

I hope this was helpful and a great idea for anyone struggling to think of make up looks for the festive season, or even enabled others to create an idea that has influenced by this look.

Perfect Smokey Eye | Frosted Rose Eye Shadow

Perfect Smokey Eye | Frosted Rose Eye Shadow

Hey,

Hope all is well,

Final look of 'Frosted Rose' eye shadow look using
'Technic Bronzing Eyeshadows Baked
Eyeshadow ' palette and Rimmel Long Lasting
Lipstick in 'Rock 'n' Roll Nude' by Kate Moss.
I love eye shadow, especially baked eye shadow, and I love the smokey eye look. My every day look always involves a smokey eye. Ever since discovering makeup when I was around 13/14, I have forever loved the look of a smokey eye. I just love how pretty the colours look, blending into other complimentary colours, and that you can wear it for any occasion and it just looks great.
So I have decided to share my new favourite eye shadow palette that I recently purchased, my Technic Bronzing Eyeshadows Baked Eyeshadow palette in what I call 'Frosted Rose', and my Frosted Rose Smokey Eye look I created using this palette.

Now before I start, I just want to tell you all about this palette, because its my new love. Some of you may be thinking 'Technic? That's not a big brand is it?' and that's a common thought with makeup brands that aren't as popular as the makeup giants like Rimmel or Max-Factor, Mac or Maybelline.
My 'Frosted Rose' eye shadow look using my
'Technic Bronzing Eyeshadows Baked
Eyeshadow ' palette.
I purchased this palette for £2,99 and I love it; it has all the pigmentation I have been searching for and is so cost effective. Not only is it gorgeous with it's pinkish hue, but a great price. To add, Technic are also against animal testing unlike other brands such as Maybelline and Rimmel, which may come as an unexpected shock to some, due to the ideology that 'cheap', cost-effective makeup is of low quality and therefore of bad morals, but in this case that belief is banished. This puts this palette in my good books, because this palette even more worth it's cost, as the majority of non-animal testing brands can be fairly expensive to purchase and don't last very long when I use them as frequently as I do.

So let me tell you about the Frosted Rose Smokey Eye look I created one day using my new 'Technic Bronzing Eyeshadows Baked Eyeshadow' palette.

1) To start with, I firstly applied my every day makeup: foundation, concealer and press powder. I then took my trusty eye shadow brush and applied the base shadow to my eyelid, the lightest colour in 'Frosted Snow', dabbing it lightly on to my eyelid, building up the intensity of the pigment due to it's very light pale white-pinkish hue.

Makeup for this look:'Technic Bronzing Eyeshadows Baked
Eyeshadow' palette in 'Frosted Gold, and Rimmel Long Lasting
Lipstick in 'Rock 'n' Roll Nude' by Kate Moss.
In order of left to right: Top: 'Truffle', 'Frost', 'Rusted Gold'
Bottom left to right: 'Ice', 'Berry', 'Copper Bronze'.
2) I then placed a darker shade of shadow in  'Rusted Gold' onto the tip of the brush, and started to blend it into the crease of my eyelid to create the smokey look and highlight my eyes. I worked along starting at the lash line, and then along the crease on top of my eyelid, and repeat. I continue to add and blend small amounts, slowly building up the intensity of the eye shadow and creating the slightly pinkish tone of the eyeshadows. After adding enough shadow, I then used the brush without any eye shadow on it, to blend the shadow into the base shadow to stop a harsh clash of unblended eye shadow. I will admit that for some like myself when first starting smokey eye looks, it takes practice to learn blending and what way to blend the shadow into the crease of the eye depending on your eye shape. When blending the shadow, I do mine in an almost 'V' on it's side like this: ' < ' shape, with the point being the outer corner of my eyelid, instead of a 'C' shape, as my eyelids are too big for the 'C' shape route to take as you blend.

3) Lastly, to achieve the shadowed effect the smokey eye creates and add depth to the eye, I applied 'Truffle' a tiny bit onto the brush and gently dabbed it above the lash line and then along the outer corner's crease of my eye; the areas of the eyelid that my 'V' shaped route to blend the shadow would take. I always prefer to apply the darkest colour such as 'Truffle' lightly at first, as if it's too dark it can be difficult to blend without looking like a panda. Finally to finish off, I very very lightly moved the brush back and forth in the 'V' route to lightly blend the darkest shadow, with strokes literally of about 2mm or approximately 1cm. As always, I get my un powdered powder brush and gently flicked the brush outward along my skin under my eyes, to rid of excess powder that falls onto the eye lashes and under eyes when it's applied. Just staring from the outer corner and flicking it outwards flicks the shadow off your face.
The final look for my Smokey eye 'Frosted Rose' look.
Because I am looking down, you can see the blending of
eye shadow to create the smokey eye look.
A trick I use when applying eye shadow, is to gently tap the eye shadow brush on the edge of the palette case to remove excess, loose shadow that will fall under my eyes when being applied.

4) To complete the look, I apply my mascara. Working my way from outer lashes and underneath the lashes, I firstly apply it gently to the top of the lashes, and then the bottom, to fully coat the eyelashes by hiding any loose eye shadow residue which will be settled on my eye lashes, and to help them keep their shape. I do this as my eyelashes are quite long and taper downwards in a curve leaving lashes that flick outwards like a cat eye liner would.

To add, another useful tip I have for eye shadow application when you've applied shadow for the smokey eye look, is how to deal with bits of mascara ending up on your eyelids which are covered in layers of perfected eye shadow. What I do is get my eye shadow brush and make it clean of any residue by rubbing it on my hand so that the residue won't transfer, and then lightly move the brush back and forth on the eye lid in small strokes to gently blend and remove the black mascara, yet without removing any of the shadow or disturbing the balance of pigmentation of eye shadow.
Close up of the look. This 'Frosted
Rose' look is subtly but an effective
smokey eye look.

5) To compliment my pinkish 'Frosted Rose' smokey eye look, I pair this look with my favourite lipstick: Rimmel's Lasting Finish Lipstick in 'Rock 'n' Roll Nude' by Kate Moss in her nudes lipstick collection. I feel this
lipstick compliments the pigmentation of the eye shadow and the 'Frosted Rose' smoky eye look with it's nude pink pigments.

The final look complete with 'Technic Bronzing
EyeshadowsBaked Eyeshadow' palette and
 Rimmel Long Lasting Lipstick
in 'Rock 'n' Roll Nude' by
Kate Moss; to create a pinkish
nude, frosted rose look.
I hope my quick tutorial was interesting, helpful, and maybe even inspiring to read for new makeup looks, and I hope you enjoyed the post. This smokey-eye eye shadow look was just created one morning when I was getting ready for college and decided to use my new 'Techic Bronzing Eyeshadows Baked Eyeshadow' palette, and I really liked the results I achieved just by experimenting with makeup.

Ultimate Make Up Crush | Baked Eye Shadow

Ultimate Make Up Crush | Baked Eye Shadow

Hey,

For this post, I thought I would share with all of you my one makeup product that I just can't not get enough of right now: baked eye shadow and the smokey eye look. When it comes to my favourite make up, I don't just mean big brands, oh no, I mean all the brands I have.
So for my baked eye shadow, this collection consists of many different brands that I discovered and now adore. If I love a make up product, I don't mind what brand it is, be it cheap or averagely priced, I'm willing to try it out and adopt it as my own; because I love to save money via the best deals and money saving includes trying new brands at more affordable prices.

satin effect they create.

To  me, baked eye shadow is amazing. I love the look you can achieve with it and the consistency this eye shadow has with its satin-like effect when it catches in the light. Because it's baked, I find it tends to last longer, yet still looks fabulous on your eyes, meaning you can save on topping up your stash. Another great thing I find about baked eye shadow, is that due to this eye shadow being baked, it has more shimmer to it, making the coverage fuller on your eyelids. This in turn allows you to develop your look from pretty to glam, just by adding more baked shadow with the best results via dabbing and pressing the shadow gently onto the lids for a chick look. So let me introduce my most used baked shadows and their looks. I have incorporated images to show their consistency, some taken in the day with natural lighting to highlight the intensity of the pigment and satin-like shimmer, and images taken in artificial lighting to represent their satin effect and pigment in darker environments at night.
Day: 'Golden Bronze Baked Eye shadow'.
Upper left: 'Copper Gold', upper right: 'Golden
Bronze', lower left: 'Frosted ivory', lower Right:
'Chocolate'.

Baked eye shadow is my ultimate make up crush right now. When I'm getting ready for a night out, such as to a restaurant or occasion, I always turn to is my smokey eye silver look (yes I created the name myself because I think a commonly used look has to have an official name).

For the day, my first look I turn to is my most faithful 'Dark Bronze Baked Eye Shadow' set which I adore. This shadow is versatile (like other baked eye shadows) and can be paired with any normal pressed eye shadow, such as when I use my 'Golden Bronze Baked Eye Shadow' with my 'Silver Nude Pressed Shadow' from a long lasting palette of mine. This duo go hand-in-hand to achieve a subtly smokey look for the day, using 'Silver Nude' for the base and 'Golden Bronze' for the crease of the eye.
Night: 'Golden Bronze Baked Eye shadow'.
Upper left: 'Copper Gold', upper right: 'Golden
Bronze', lower left: 'Frosted ivory', lower Right:
'Chocolate'.

At the night to achieve my second favourite look with these baked shadows, I use the dark smokey look, by adding 'Chocolate' to the look on my outer corner of the eyelid to create depth and make my eyes pop; highlighting my eyes with the 'Silver Nude' whilst giving off a dark smokey look with 'Golden Bronze' and 'Chocolate'. In my post, 🎃 🎀 Halloween Look | Broken Porcelain Doll 🎀 🎃 I used these shadows to create my look and illuminate my eyes, which you can see by clicking the link.

My third favourite look, is a simple coat of my 'Golden Bronze Baked Eye Shadow'. I start on the outside of my eye lid and work my way in, building on the intensity of the shadow, adding more pigment to the crease of the eye and blending the shadow. My favourite part about this look is the way the shimmer in the eye shadow catches the light, highlighting your eyes and giving a soft glow along side the warm pigmentation which compliments my skin tone. An even better fact is that this eye shadow look takes minutes to perfect and just adds a little extra to your make up look.

Day: Technic 'Bronzing Eyeshadows Baked Eyeshadow'
 palette in 'Frosted Rose'

Finally, the last baked eye shadow that I will rant about, is my newly discovered 'Bronzing Eyeshadows Baked Eye Shadow' Palette from Technic. This palette was around £2.99 I believe and I came across it when Christmas shopping one day. Being the baked eye shadow addict that I am, especially a bronze coloured eye shadow lover, I snatched it up. I had been looking for a pinkish bronze baked shadow for a long time, so when I came across this palette I couldn't believe my luck. There were so many palettes to choose from, all with lush colours, but in the end I turned to this 'Bronzing Eyeshadows Baked Eye Shadow' palette in what I like to call 'Frosted Rose' because of the shimmer and pinkish undertones which I adore

 Night: Technic 'Bronzing Eyeshadows
Baked Eyeshadow' palette in 'Frosted Rose'
The palette consists of six shadows, all as individually gorgeous as one other, and all with a pinkish pigmented undertone to them. A great part is that not only was this brand cost effective, costing just £2.99 for baked bronze eye shadows, but it's against animal testing, unlike top brands such as 'Rimmel' and 'Maybelline'. This may come as an unexpected fact for some, as many people believe 'cheap' or cost- effective make up is of low quality and therefore bad morals; but in this case that stigma is wrong.

I am  ultimately in love with this 'Bronzing Eye Shadows Baked Eye Shadow' palette, even the way it looks is amazing, with the rose-silver pigmentation and effect it presents. When I got this palette home I loved it so much, I even said to myself "Ohh this palette is so bea" when testing a few shadows on my hand 😄  I am so excited to try this new palette, and see what new smokey eye looks I can concoct, and which of these are best suited to specific occasions. It's decided: this palette is a keeper.
The back of the Technic 'Bronzing Eyeshadows Baked
Eyeshadow' palette. The small heart says 'Against Animal Testing'

So there are a few of my looks along side the baked shadows I use to create my most used looks; including the introduction to my newest ultimate makeup crush, the 'Bronzing Baked Eye Shadow' palette.

A thing I cannot get over about baked eye shadow, is that it has such an intense shimmer and allows you to create more depth than pressed shadows allow you to. This makes your look appear even more glamorous then it would be if using pressed eye shadow alone, and more chick than usual; a perfect way to make your look unique.

🎃 🎀 Halloween Look | Broken Porcelain Doll 🎀 🎃

🎃 🎀 Halloween Look | Broken Porcelain Doll 🎀 🎃

The final look: Broken Porcelain Doll

Hey,

During the Halloween period, I can't help but take part in the fun and get creative with Halloween looks. Every year I enjoy the fact that no matter how unusual you look, it's acceptable because it's Halloween and everyone looks extremely different to their normal, human selves. And so I thought I'd share my Halloween look with you.

This year, I dressed up at work to raise money for the children's charity the NSPCC, which my employer frequently supports all year round, and with the chance to show my creativity, I couldn't help but take part and become a broken Porcelain doll.
I just love the idea of a broken Porcelain doll and all its hidden meanings for Halloween. Think of the symbolic representation that's associated with dolls: the notion that they resemble childhood and joy, yet when broken, a doll can convey sense of a loss of freedom and hope a child may feel when their toy is broken. This is the basis for all films with creepy, haunted dolls; they symbolise a loss of childhood, broken dreams and lost joy. An example, Annabelle the possessed doll....

Make up used for the look
So with my love for horror films, and my interest in the hidden meanings and symbolic representations, I decided to get creative and become a broken Porcelain Doll for Halloween. The idea sprang to me when I was thinking of a Halloween look, and my idea for the broken Porcelain doll popped into my head. My design is my original idea and was created using just my ordinary things: make-up and my every day clothes. I personally prefer not to use expensive make-up for Halloween looks, as you cannot tell the difference and at Halloween the aim is to look as creepy as possible, even if your lipstick is cheap as you'll only be wearing it for a short period. Plus drawing on myself is a bit of a waste of make-up, so I tend leave big brands out of the picture, except for my everyday makeup which consists of brands such as Maybelline, Rimmel and Soap & Glory because I have no other make-up brands to use.
Silver Nude eye-shadow
The images are from two occasions, my first practice so I could have time to take the images for you lovely people, and the others are from after I got back from work; as I had to set off at 9 for work so wouldn't of had enough time to take images of my look.

Firstly, for the look, I wore my White Long Sleeved Turtle Neck- my essential top for everything - my Black Dungaree Pinafore Dress and white shoes. I paired myself with an old teddy, that is conveniently broken at the back, to mimic the toys that dolls would come with, and give off a creepier vibe.

Golden Bronze baked eye shadow
For my makeup, I put on my every day look: foundation, concealer, press powder and mascara. I then used a lot of pink blush for my cheeks to mimic the rosy cheeks dolls have, and smokey eye look to make my eyes pop using my frosted Silver Nude eye shadow, and Golden Bronze and Chocolate baked eye shadow. I followed this with my Avon Matte Lipstick in 'Peach Flatters' (which I have previously blogged about alongside other lipsticks: Favourite Lipstick Picks | Lipsticks I Couldn't Live Without) to achieve the heavy and bright lipstick dolls would have.

Chocolate baked eye shadow
I tied my hair into two messy pig tails, then left my fringe out at the front, to present the often childlike hairstyles that dolls would have. This look can also be with your hair down which I wore for work when I decided to leave my hair down for the day after it fell out.

The finished look close up: Broken Porcelain Doll
To achieve the cracks on my hand and face, I used my Soap & Glory felt tip eyeliner pen and drew the cracks lightly onto my skin, filling in some parts to make it seem as though I was missing pieces. Soap & Glory is the only brand I own for eye liner, as I find it to be amazing because it doesn't smudge, lasts all day, and the felt tip is perfect for precision of make up. The trick with drawing the cracks is to make them as thin as possible and imagine your drawing what cracks on a delicate window would look like. I drew cracks on my right side of my face reaching from my jaw line to my temple, and a smaller one on my left side of my face by my jawline and cheek bone. I then dusted press powder lightly over the cracks on my face to help set the eye liner, and to gain depth of the cracks on my hand, I used ordinary eye shadows in jet black, grey and then white to go over the harsh black lines to give a blended effect, and complete my look. 🎃 🎀

Favourite Lipstick Picks | Lipsticks I Couldn't Live Without

Favourite Lipstick Picks | Lipsticks I Couldn't Live Without

Hey,
I am a lipstick kind of girl. No lip gloss, just classic lipstick. There's no other makeup type that I could never get enough of than lipstick. Matte lipstick or cream effect, I have them all.
So here are a few of my favourite lipsticks and reviews on each.

Lipsticks:
There is nothing better than a smooth, glossy lipstick. A method I use to keep the glossy effect lasting with my lipstick, is to apply lip moisturiser/ lip balm to my lips to provide a smooth, hydrated base to evenly apply my lipstick to. Plus, because the base -my lips- is smooth and hydrated, it's easy to correct lipstick to ensure it looks great.
Gosh, 'Shocking Coral'
Gosh 'Shocking Coral': A brand that I have read don't test on animals, Gosh is affordable and has multiple lipstick colours to choose from. I chose 'Shocking Coral' because I seem to have a thing about coral coloured lipsticks and I just love how there's so many different coral colours for each lipstick. I am not sure how much this cost. as I purchased it a while back but it was definitely under £7.00.

Avon, 'Pink Pop'
Avon, 'Pink Pop': One of my all time favourites and I can honestly say the glossiest and creamiest lipstick without the thick glitter incorporated into the lipstick which I hate (as I'm one who's fussy about makeup not looking natural and looking over the top), this lipstick from Avon in 'Pink Pop' suits for everyday use without the harsh, false effect that some lipsticks and their colour can have; with its colour being near natural lip colour, it looks great no matter what you wear. As you can see, I've nearly finished this lipstick because I wear it so often.
Maybelline, 'More To Adore'
I wore this lipstick to prom alongside my pale pink dress, and the lipstick did not contrast at all, adding to the look. I'm sad to say it's slowly running out and they don't have this lipstick any more :/ I received this lipstick in a Christmas goody bag from Avon given to me, so don't know it's price, but this lipstick is, by far, hands down the best lipstick I've ever had! Avon, I have found, have by far the best quality lipstick with the smoothest texture out of all the lipsticks from all the beauty brands I've tried and affordable for a great quality lipstick. I definitely recommend! :)

Maybelline, 'More To Adore': Another lipstick that has a creamy, smooth texture to it, is Maybelline's 'Colour Sensational Lipstick',  'More To Adore'. The second creamiest of all lipsticks I have ever tried, this lipstick is more of a soft pink tone and has a texture that enables you to apply the lipstick smoothly and so evenly. Costing £6.99 this lipstick is worth it's price and another tone that is perfect for everyday use, without looking too bright or bold; something someone like me is unlikely to want to wear everyday.
Maybelline, Kate Moss, 'Rock 'N'
Roll Nude'

Maybelline Lasting Finish, Kate Moss, 'Rock 'N' Roll Nude': This lipstick is part of Kate Moss's "Favourite reds and nudes" selection of lipsticks from Maybelline's Kate Moss collection. I have been looking for a nude coloured lipstick that suits my pale skin tone, yet is smooth and glossy for a great look; and that won't dry up quickly. This lipstick is a lovely colour and there are two other nude shades to pick from. I purchased this lipstick alongside a 'buy one get one half price' offer and it cost me just £3.25 which is a great price for a big branded lipstick, originally costing £6.49; and I have to say I do love it :)  The shade, as it is said to be, looks natural like a nude lipstick, but has a pinker hue to it than other nude lipsticks meaning it adds a bit of colour to your look. It's definitely becoming a favourite of mine :) I would definitely recommend this for a nude,, natural-like effect lipstick :)

Matte Lipsticks:
Avon, 'Peach Flatters'
I love a good matte lipstick, but it has to be worth it's title, and not chip like poor quality matte lipsticks do or come off easily. The whole point of a matte lipstick is to give a matte effect, hence its name, and this can be hard to apply with dry lips for a dry-like feel lipstick. So with any matte lipstick I use lip moisturiser first to make sure the lipstick is easy to apply and will not tug at the lip, causing an uneven application of lipstick that can look pretty bad. This matte lipstick also lasts for hours, even when eating and drinking, the colour stays.

Avon, 'Peach Flatters: I love this matte lipstick from Avon, called 'Peach flatters', on sale for £5.50 via their catelogue. The colour is similar to a fascia and has a slight brown hue to it to deepen the colour, similar to a berry colour, and to add, Avon don't test on animals. I can also say that I have found Avon's quality of lipstick to be the best out of all the lipsticks I have tried from a multitude of makeup brands.
Revlon, 'Audacious

Revlon, 'Audacious': Another favourite matte lipstick, is 'Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm' in 'Audacious'. The lipstick is called a lip balm as it's in crayon form and it's colour is a coral colour which suits my skin tone a treat as I've pale skin. To add, I can get away with this colour as a near red lipstick, due to my pale skin tone and the lipsticks pigments, yet without the harsh contrast that red lipstick has against my pale skin.

As you can see, these six lipsticks are my favourites, and are from various brands, with some brands occurring more because I love their products so much. There are some old and nearly all gone, and others new and already becoming a massive favourite of mine. I just adore them all :)
