A Sweet Treat | Mini Vanilla Bites

A Sweet Treat | Mini Vanilla Bites

Hey, hope all is well,

Image of my Mini Vanilla Bites
A few days ago I made some cakes, which I call my 'mini vanilla bites' and I thought it to be a good idea to share it for all to see. I will be posting images and some quick short instructions to make it as simple as possible, as even though these cakes took me around two to three hours due to complications with the cake as I initially intended these to be cake pops, however the cakes tore in the silicon mold and wouldn't stay put with the sticks, I decided to turn them into my own creation being my mini vanilla bites.

Ingredients and equipment:

To start, as I did but with the intention that the cakes would become cake pops, you will need a cake pop mould in order to achieve the small round shape of the cakes, one which I recieved as a gift years ago and decided it was time to use it.
Secondly you will need to have a cake recipe to follow. I have cake recipe cards which are perfect, but you can find multiple cake recipes in books or online, such as on the BBC Good Food website which I often go to for recipes which I then modify to my desired needs. The cake recipe mustn't be anything too difficult, as you will need to make sure they mold to the cake pop mold, so I went for a simple vanilla fairy cake recipe which doesn't require too many ingredients and so is cheaper to make. This recipe makes 20 mini cakes, however because I was experimenting, I ended up with a two extra cakes, so be sure to scale up or down to the right number. Unfortunately, I don't have to amount for the icing as I experimented with the portions as all recipes were too much for the small cakes, but roughly only 100g because the cakes are so small.

To conclude, you will need:
Cake pop mold or small cake tin
Large mixing bowl
Spoon
Sieve
2 Egg
150g butter/margarine for the cake
150g self raising flour
150g Caster sugar (be sure to use this instead of granulated sugar, as when granulated sugar heats, it clumps together and makes the texture of the cake gritty due to its larger size compared to caster sugar which is finer)
1 1/2 cap (the lid from the vanilla extract bottle) of vanilla extract
Butter/margarine for the icing
Decorations, such as 100's and 1000's and icing pens like I used.

Method:
1) Firstly preheat the oven to 180 degrees-for the vanilla fairy cake recipe I have given above- and make the cake mix, add butter/margarine, caster sugar and beat in the bowl until smooth. Beat the egg/s in a bow/jug until bubbles of air are on the surface-this lets you know air has been beaten into the egg so it will help the cake rise properly into the molds.

2) Using the sieve to avoid lumps of flour in the cake when it's finished, sieve the flour and add the egg and mix until smooth without lumps. Add vanilla extract, bearing in mind to stick to the recipe as too little vanilla extract wont be able to hide the eggy taste of the cake, and too much will make it overpowering and sharp on your throat when you eat the cake.

3) Greece the cake mold/tin with butter/margarine and spoon the cake mixture into each mould making sure to fill it level with the top of the individual cake moulds. If using a cake pop mold like I did, connect the base with the cake mixture to the top mold carefully, and then place on to a tray before putting into the oven as the silicon mold will bend and spill the cake mixture without a tray to support it. Now be sure to only open the oven when you're sure the cake is near or is finished, as this will allow the heat to escape which will effect the cakes' ability to rise like it should into the molds, and may result in flat, deflated cakes. Just follow the instructions and all should be fine.

4) Whilst the cakes are cooking, make the icing. For mine I used buttercream icing which I would recommend as it's thicker and wont run off the round sides of the cakes like normal icing which concisest of water and icing sugar. Add the better/margarine and sieve the icing sugar to make the icing lump-free. Mix until smooth and creamy, and ensure that the icing does indeed taste like a mix of both icing sugar, with a hint of butter flavour. Icing that tastes solely of butter needs more icing sugar to ensure it's sweet, creamy taste.

5)Once the cakes are cooked, remove from the oven. After leaving to cool for a while, carefully remove the top cake mold and check the cakes are risen properly by pressing the cakes gently in the middle, if they spring back after pressing them down, they're cooked and risen properly.
Carefully remove the cake bites from the molds and leave to cool o a wire rack. Once cooled decorate the cakes with icing and decorations, such as 100's and 1000's like I did. To note: be sure the cakes are completely cool as any heat will melt the icing and this will make it run off the cake.
Leave the cakes on a plate and place in the fridge to ensure the icing sets. Once set, take out and enjoy :)

I ca,e about this idea of my own, my Mini Vanilla Bites, as i initially intended to create cake pops, which failed massively, so I turned it into a new recipe of my own and they looked cute and tasted delicious, I shall have to make them again.

Hope this was helpful and thank you for reading,

Caris

Summer Photo Picks | My Favourite Pictures Of My Holiday, 2016

Summer Photo Picks | My Favourite Pictures Of My Holiday, 2016

Hey, hope all is well,

Mountains, Carmarthenshire, South Wales. This image isn't
edited at all, everything you see, all the natural colours;
are untouched, and only captured by me on my camera.
Now I have just been on holiday, and anyone who knows me and my blog, will know that if there's anything I like to do more on holiday; is to take pictures to catelogue my experiences. I have gathered together all the pictures I love the most, in order to share them and to highlight the beauty of the South of Wales where I spent my week on holiday with my family. This year, I am going to create a mini album one could call it, of all the pictures, putting a twist to my usual blogging where I end up writing and writing until about five pages later I only just finish, with the thought that a small collage of photos might be nice to share on my blog with all of you.
Llanelli beach
However, before you have a look at the natural beauty of South Wales, I'll first give you some context on my holiday. I went on holiday Saturday the 30th with my family off to South Wales to a small cottage in the middle of the hills and forest in a small village called Gwynfe, based in the county of Carmarthenshire, which was one of the two county's that wales consisted of.
Dryslwyn Castle, a 13th century castle.
The journey took approximately three hours, followed by pacing up the small, steep and narrow roads and over the mountains that I swear look like mount Everest's cousins. The further we went, the higher we got into the mountains, until thirty minutes later we reached the cottage, named 'Forest View Cottage'.

Dryswlyn Castle
Now the cottage was an average size, painted white and with all rooms on ground level, and being so high up in the mountains, the cottage was cold, with its stone structure. Of course, as you may have guessed, there was no wi-fi, no phone signal- unless you drove twenty minutes to Pen Arthur Wood- and not even a telephone inside the cottage, with the owner of the cottage living next door, I guess they didn't see any reason to have one.To sum up, the area was pretty excluded or even 'remote' as some might say.
The beginning of the National Show Caves
Throughout the week, we spent some time travelling to different places, going along a mountain route that winds round the mountains and past the sheep who occupy it. The view was amazing, and you'll soon see why :) In summary, we visited Dryswyn Castle, a 13th century castle now with its remains standing high above the
ground, Llanelli and it's beach and it's national nature reservation grounds with a cycle route that a enjoyed so much, we spent two hours cycling around and even came face to face with swans that didn't seem too happy to see our bicycles because their juvenile babies were around, so they started trying to attack the wheels, and may I add; swans aren't the
most friendliest of birds I can think of. We also visited The National Show Caves which were amazing and had an intriguing history to them of bones found in one of the three caves called the 'Bone Cave' that were from around the iron age or older, with the main cave
being the first to be discovered by the Morgan Brothers in 1912 who had finished
Waterfalls in the National Show Caves
their farm work for the day and decided to finally explore the caves, mapping out every detail of it. We also went to Swansea for a bit of shopping, because I really needed some new shoes that preferably weren't broken like my other ones; and finally Pen Arthur Wood, a small woodland walk just twenty minutes down the road, and down the mountains, from Gwynfe.

So here are all the top pictures from my summer holiday, 2016. I could only choose a few because they were all amazing and I just couldn't fit them all onto this blog post. Scroll down the page to view the rest of images, click to enlarge them. All images are taken by me, Caris and my property :)
National Show Caves

Waterfalls in the National Show Caves

The National Show Caves

This stalagmite was named 'The Angel'
by the Morgan brothers for its tall human-like structure
and long wings which can be seen to the back of
the stalagmite's structure. The Morgan brothers
first ventured into the caves after finishing
their farm work early in 1912 and they mapped out
the caves as they went. one hundred and four years later,
they're open to the public with their rich history
and interesting past of the 'Bone Cave' which has remains
dating back to before the Iron age.

I hope these pictures were worth a look, I think they are it it goes to show the real, untouched natural beauty of South Wales.

Favourite Lipstick Picks | Lipsticks I Couldn't Live Without

Favourite Lipstick Picks | Lipsticks I Couldn't Live Without

Hey,
I am a lipstick kind of girl. No lip gloss, just classic lipstick. There's no other makeup type that I could never get enough of than lipstick. Matte lipstick or cream effect, I have them all.
So here are a few of my favourite lipsticks and reviews on each.

Lipsticks:
There is nothing better than a smooth, glossy lipstick. A method I use to keep the glossy effect lasting with my lipstick, is to apply lip moisturiser/ lip balm to my lips to provide a smooth, hydrated base to evenly apply my lipstick to. Plus, because the base -my lips- is smooth and hydrated, it's easy to correct lipstick to ensure it looks great.
Gosh, 'Shocking Coral'
Gosh 'Shocking Coral': A brand that I have read don't test on animals, Gosh is affordable and has multiple lipstick colours to choose from. I chose 'Shocking Coral' because I seem to have a thing about coral coloured lipsticks and I just love how there's so many different coral colours for each lipstick. I am not sure how much this cost. as I purchased it a while back but it was definitely under £7.00.

Avon, 'Pink Pop'
Avon, 'Pink Pop': One of my all time favourites and I can honestly say the glossiest and creamiest lipstick without the thick glitter incorporated into the lipstick which I hate (as I'm one who's fussy about makeup not looking natural and looking over the top), this lipstick from Avon in 'Pink Pop' suits for everyday use without the harsh, false effect that some lipsticks and their colour can have; with its colour being near natural lip colour, it looks great no matter what you wear. As you can see, I've nearly finished this lipstick because I wear it so often.
Maybelline, 'More To Adore'
I wore this lipstick to prom alongside my pale pink dress, and the lipstick did not contrast at all, adding to the look. I'm sad to say it's slowly running out and they don't have this lipstick any more :/ I received this lipstick in a Christmas goody bag from Avon given to me, so don't know it's price, but this lipstick is, by far, hands down the best lipstick I've ever had! Avon, I have found, have by far the best quality lipstick with the smoothest texture out of all the lipsticks from all the beauty brands I've tried and affordable for a great quality lipstick. I definitely recommend! :)

Maybelline, 'More To Adore': Another lipstick that has a creamy, smooth texture to it, is Maybelline's 'Colour Sensational Lipstick',  'More To Adore'. The second creamiest of all lipsticks I have ever tried, this lipstick is more of a soft pink tone and has a texture that enables you to apply the lipstick smoothly and so evenly. Costing £6.99 this lipstick is worth it's price and another tone that is perfect for everyday use, without looking too bright or bold; something someone like me is unlikely to want to wear everyday.
Maybelline, Kate Moss, 'Rock 'N'
Roll Nude'

Maybelline Lasting Finish, Kate Moss, 'Rock 'N' Roll Nude': This lipstick is part of Kate Moss's "Favourite reds and nudes" selection of lipsticks from Maybelline's Kate Moss collection. I have been looking for a nude coloured lipstick that suits my pale skin tone, yet is smooth and glossy for a great look; and that won't dry up quickly. This lipstick is a lovely colour and there are two other nude shades to pick from. I purchased this lipstick alongside a 'buy one get one half price' offer and it cost me just £3.25 which is a great price for a big branded lipstick, originally costing £6.49; and I have to say I do love it :)  The shade, as it is said to be, looks natural like a nude lipstick, but has a pinker hue to it than other nude lipsticks meaning it adds a bit of colour to your look. It's definitely becoming a favourite of mine :) I would definitely recommend this for a nude,, natural-like effect lipstick :)

Matte Lipsticks:
Avon, 'Peach Flatters'
I love a good matte lipstick, but it has to be worth it's title, and not chip like poor quality matte lipsticks do or come off easily. The whole point of a matte lipstick is to give a matte effect, hence its name, and this can be hard to apply with dry lips for a dry-like feel lipstick. So with any matte lipstick I use lip moisturiser first to make sure the lipstick is easy to apply and will not tug at the lip, causing an uneven application of lipstick that can look pretty bad. This matte lipstick also lasts for hours, even when eating and drinking, the colour stays.

Avon, 'Peach Flatters: I love this matte lipstick from Avon, called 'Peach flatters', on sale for £5.50 via their catelogue. The colour is similar to a fascia and has a slight brown hue to it to deepen the colour, similar to a berry colour, and to add, Avon don't test on animals. I can also say that I have found Avon's quality of lipstick to be the best out of all the lipsticks I have tried from a multitude of makeup brands.
Revlon, 'Audacious

Revlon, 'Audacious': Another favourite matte lipstick, is 'Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm' in 'Audacious'. The lipstick is called a lip balm as it's in crayon form and it's colour is a coral colour which suits my skin tone a treat as I've pale skin. To add, I can get away with this colour as a near red lipstick, due to my pale skin tone and the lipsticks pigments, yet without the harsh contrast that red lipstick has against my pale skin.

As you can see, these six lipsticks are my favourites, and are from various brands, with some brands occurring more because I love their products so much. There are some old and nearly all gone, and others new and already becoming a massive favourite of mine. I just adore them all :)

Small Ways to Save | Little Tips for Money Saving Moments

Small Ways to Save | Little Tips for Money Saving Moments

From time to time, everyone will want or need to save money at some point in life, and as a young adult (18 is considered an adult in the UK even when I don't feel old ha) money can go fast. I found as I got older and more independent, as I am one who likes to have self Independence, money would go fast on the smallest of things in every day life, especially this year as I have become a lot more independent in small ways. It's a general thing adults experience, such as when a car breaks down, or when the bills are due. And this gets me thinking: I'm glad my parents socialised me to save as much money as possible through every day life; especially when I have to shop for small every day essentials such as shampoo, makeup, you name it.

So I've gathered all the ways in which I save using my methods to save a little more, especially as the seasons effect spending, such as Christmas shopping which can be costly.

Price compare:
Now this may be an obvious one, but it works. Ever purchased something, only to realise the exact same product was so much cheaper in another store you've just waked into? I have and it can be annoying. So look around and find which shop is best for you.
I price compare on beauty products such as shampoos to makeup, and an example is my favourite shampoo, 'Garnier Ultimate Blends Shampoo, Delicate Blends, Rice Cream and Oat Milk'. In Boots this costs £3.49 on average via their website, but in Wilkinsons, my go-to store for cheaper items at this moment in time, it cost me between £1.00 to £2.00, most likely £1.90 I believe (unfortunately I cannot remember the exact cost or find a receipt for this product). So as we can see, a lot more worth the price, especially when I have been saving up for my holiday.

Buy in bulk:
Sometimes buying in bulk can be more worth it, than buying individual items. An example could be makeup, often most stores will have deals, such as Boots, where they'll have 'buy one get one free' on all makeup brands specified under this offer.
To add, buying in bulk means that, yes you may end up with more you wanted this month, but next month and the month after, you wont have to spend a penny on the same product, therefore saving up on the little expenses and having the money you would have spent on that item to use on something else. I just figure out the cost for one unit of the bulk item, which all sales signs will have on them ie '£0.79 per 100ml' and compare this to the individual item. Often you'll see that the comparison is equivalent to something like £0.70 or £0.39 cheaper, which if times by the number of amount of times you'll buy another of this item, can add up to the next pound. Definitely worth a try.

But remember, some companies will actually try to trick you into believing that their bulk items are better than the same items that are separate, even if the bulk items have just as many items in them as the individual items, so always compare the price to make sure you're paying for what you want.
For example, just because two bigger 800ml bottles of shampoo costs £4.00, doesn't mean that the same individual 250ml bottles should be ignored. I found four bottles of individual 250ml shampoo cost a total of £4.00 for an overall total of 1 litre of shampoo, meaning you get 200ml more for the same price than you would with the bulk offer of  £4.00 for a total of 800ml bottles of shampoo. If I had ignored the individual 250ml bottles, I'd be charged £4.00 for the bulk buy and would have 200ml less, therefore I would have paid for 200ml less of shampoo than amount of one individual bottle, and so technically speaking, I would have been overcharged. To add, as I think of this, 200ml is nearly the amount in one individual bottle, therefore if I had gone for the 800ml bottle, I would be paying for less than I could get. Hope this makes sense, as I'm not maths fan myself, but what I mean is that I got more shampoo for less the cost with individual bottles, so always check those prices first and compare.

Shop in the 'sale':
This may be obvious, but it works. Many of my "best-buys" a.k.a. "Bargains" as I like to call them, were in the sale. A plain, black, cut out back jumpsuit from River Island, for example, was originally £50.00, but I purchased it for £20.00, saving £30.00; my "best-buy" in terms of saving so much money at a shop that can be costly for certain or many items, and also because I just love this jumpsuit :)
If you take me to a shop with a sale, don't think I'll shop in the full price section, as when I see a sale item that's so much cheaper than it's original price, and that's my size, and is just what I've been looking for; I'll grab it up in seconds before you can even see me. I just love sales. I can find great items for such cheap prices :) A denim dungaree pinafore dress, which I've been searching for, ever since they can back into fashion, and one that suits my body shape, appeared before me in New Look a few days ago, so what did I do? I grabbed it, tried it on, and fell in love with it because its A-line shape suited by body shape perfectly and now it's another favourite of mine for only £9.00 instead of £19.99. Plus, I never wear dresses and they don't normally suit me or my body shape, but this dress I just loved and it's the first time since I was about eight years old that I've worn a dress on a normal day with no special occasion and by choice :)

So there are a few of my methods and tips for saving money when required, and advice on how to do this if needed. Hope this was helpful and worth a read :)

Summer Rush | Catch up

Summer Rush | Catch up

Hey, hope all is well,

Now it's been a while, well a very long while, since I've posted anything; and I'll explain why to you all following both, or one of my blogs. It appears that over the past few months, since my mock A-Level exams around April time, I've been extremely busy with revision for my first year of A-Level exams, my AS exams, which if I don't pass successfully, my chances of continuing A-Levels can be reduced because of these results that my A-Level exams will display. I've also been busy revising for my GCSE Maths re-take which is still the one exam that stresses me out the most, as unfortunately I don't find maths easy apart from the simple things.
The first one hundred or more revision cards
for Sociology, now 1/3 of the number
of cards I have after finishing the revision.

After I had my mock A-Level exams at college, a few weeks later I had my real AS exams, which again have the ability to affect my progression onto my second year of A-Levels, and so I've been glued to revision, bit of Drama and Theatre-Doll's House is one I am glad to put away-English Language and Literature, and oh what fun I've had with good old pal William Blake and his in-depth poems, and of Fitzgerald's novel 'The Great Gatsby', which I must admit is a well structured and detailed read.
Revision for my GCSE Maths
re-take
Alongside the majority of my revision being that of Sociology, which strikes as the most demanding subject I've ever done in my whole life and as the most horrible exam that I unluckily experienced because of my nerves getting the better of me with six questions to answer :/ And as expected, my Sociology revision sessions at home and at college ended up lasting for two straight hours of social science theory, facts, research methods and terminology, and of course social statistics; be warned, if any of you want to do A-Level Sociology this September, it's very demanding with over 30 modules to study for just one exam, so it can be easily composed the idea of me sitting on my bedroom floor complaining that my brain hurts and that I need a break but have to keep on going xD To add, I had my dance show where I was at the venue from 10 am to 10 pm, and if I was lucky with a chance to lie in bed, 11 am to 10 pm. For the show, I had to perform four shows in two days and I sure was exhausted after that with three dances and the finale to perform in. So as you can read, see, well you know what I mean, things have become kind of hectic for me; until now.

All my shoes ready and waiting
for the three separate dances I took
part in.
Because now, I am glad to say that I will now be literally "free"-meaning not attending college for over a month, yet alas I've still another year to do, and will be posting again, including any holiday posts with a multitude of images once again with the next eight and a half weeks of summer holiday I have been given (beginning today! :) )
Also, I am glad to say, that after a year of A-Level English Language and Literature, I am finally starting work on creative writing and ways in which different interpretations and versions of, say 'Fairy tales' -which I've been doing in lesson during these past few bridging weeks at college- can be produced and will start on my course work this summer, and no worries, I'll still be here sat in my room, with my trusty old pal 'Lenovo' laptop and lazy-day clothes typing away for hours on end.
To add to my massive catch-up for you, look out for possible fashion posts, as I have come to the conclusion that it would be interesting to add to my blog's fashion page :)

Have a great few weeks, if you're on holiday already, say just finished your exams, then well done and enjoy, and if you're still at school or college; then hang in there like I did, it'll be worth it! :)

Yours truly,

About Me | Part 2: My Favourite & Newly Discovered Musicians and Their Music

About Me | Part 2: My Favourite & Newly Discovered Musicians and Their Music

Previously I posted a blog post on my favourite and newly discovered musicians and their music- About Me | My Favourite & Newly Discovered Musicians and Their Music-  and since I have developed a liking for more songs, from some artists who won awards at the 2016
Brit Awards a little while ago (unless I'm getting confused in that case just nod and ignore me haha).  Now just to add, I'm no music expert, so stay with me when I describe why I like the songs and artists; I'm afraid I just don't know musical jargon. So here they are...

Adele:
Yes, I love her new song 'Hello'. The way the music flows sounds so lovely and I can't help but love this song; even if some of us may have heard it so often we've become tired of it.

Coldplay:
As mentioned before, Coldplay are a definite favourite, and their new song 'Hyme For The Weekend' has got me hooked. I just love the way the music sounds and the tune to it. Basically, to be frank, I just adore Coldplay; no doubt about it. :)

There you go, a few more of my favourite musicians and their songs to add to my 'favourites' list :)

My Wonder Food For Mornings | Be Surprised How Good Porridge Can Be

My Wonder Food For Mornings | Be Surprised How Good Porridge Can Be

This post was posted on my other blog, xDance Dorkx, and I thought, why not share it for others on this blog as well? So, if you're not a follower of xDance Dorkx, then here's your chance to read it.

Hello! So you may be wondering "why have you decided to write about porridge?" Well... I will explain. I also like to blog about healthy foods, as mentioned on my blog in the title box. This is a
My favourite combination, Porridge
with freshly chopped Apple. (Yes I took this
whilst making my breakfast haha)
post about one way which you could improve your diet in the mornings, especially helpful for us dancers who burn a lot off and eat like horses (well I do but yeah maybe you do too? ha). I have been considering blogging about this as I think it's something that I should share, especially for those like me who suffer from stomach upset when eating even the simplest of foods. So please bare with :) Now I am no food scientist, or any scientist to be exact, just someone who wants to share my experience of how good I think this food can be for you in the mornings. So here's another food post for you. Oh and if you don't like Porridge then that's fine :)

I am a Porridge lover! I used to enjoy it when I was younger and have it with jam or fresh fruit on top. Yummy! Now when I'm having breakfast in the mornings, I have always had the issue of eating something and then becoming hungry within an hour after. Not good when you're out and about or doing physical exercise, like dancing. No matter what I ate, I was always hungry a little while after. Unless... I had Porridge.

Being someone who suffers from a sensitive stomach, with I.B.S, I have to be careful about what I eat. IBS is Irritable Bowel Syndrome and it is a sensitive topic for me to mention as this is a issue that can be stress related, something I struggle with and have all my life since little. IBS makes even eating food that others easily consume impossible. I suffered from bloating which flared up with anything I ate and make things seem dismal and depressive for me. So I cut out the junk and ate all the healthy fibre foods, like porridge- yes I know I have mentioned "porridge" too many times haha. Eating junk food is not a great idea for me and I can only eat a small amount, such as chocolate every few weeks. Factors such as how acidic or alkaline foods are affect me largely; even in the smallest amounts. Cereal and Milk in the mornings give me stomach pains from the Lactose in the cold Milk. In order to consume Milk alone, I have to heat it up to break down the Lactose. Preservatives in the cereals make me feel
Take fresh fruit any type. Apple has fibre in it
and vitamins.
unwell, my stomach disagrees with them because they're not natural. But porridge? Just plain Oats. No added sugars or too high acidity levels. Not only does it calm my stomach, but it fills me up. Now there is a reason for my long descriptive introduction.  It is because I am stressing that one food that is very good for you, be it because you suffer from intolerance like I do, you're hungry literally non-stop or just think you're diet needs a kick to get back onto the healthy side of life like mine did; this is worth a read.

The day I had porridge for the first time ever, IT
ACTUALLY FILLED ME UP AND I DIDN'T FEEL BLOATED OR UNWELL!! Finally now I could do things without being hungry or with a painful feeling when eating, finally I could be out and about for hours without a single noise coming from my stomach; without my having to grab food fast. To prove how well it fills me up, I ate breakfast at 8:00 am. I had 40g of Porridge and 150ml of milk. Porridge is heated to combine the Milk and Oats (I prefer heating it in a pan), meaning my stomach is fine with milk being consumed. I add a bit of Jam on top or eat it plain and I'm full. At 1:00 pm, a time of which my stomach would have been moaning about being hungry for hours, I had only just felt the slightest bit hungry. You can add fruits to your porridge such as Strawberries, Blueberries, Grapes, Banana or Apple (as you can see in my picture) which are high in vitamins, especially berries with their antioxidant qualities (like Blueberries). Add anything you like.

So if you have similar issues as me with foods and have to limit your diet to a balance of healthy foods, you are always hungry once eating and are busy throughout the day or just feel that you need to switch your diet; why not try and incorporate porridge into your diet. Because the fact Porridge fills
Healthy, full of fibre and junk free!
me up, I highly suspect it would be great for stopping snacking between meals, something I used to do at college due to stress. If you're not a porridge fan then that's fine. It can be an advantage for anyone who wants to cut down on snacking or maybe even for those who are on diets, because you're full for longer, therefore reducing the amount of time you are hungry and reduces the amount of times you eat foods to fill up between meals.  Porridge is slow burning and full of fibre, which toxins in the body stick to in the digestive system removing them from your body; hence why junk foods made my IBS flare up. The toxins were building up! Also, a final thing to add in, your body burns this energy slowly, meaning you can last longer. I have to say it's my morning wonder food and can be had before work, school, college or exercise (like my dancing).

Yours truly,
Caris
